Musculoskeletal System & Joints
Our musculoskeletal system provides structure and support. As we age we lose bone density, muscle mass and develop joint pain and strain. Our muscles and tendons become tight and our joints stiffen. We become vulnerable to autoimmune disease and the accumulation of debris.
Dr. Martin believes that movement is one of the key hallmarks of health. She especially advocates walking 10,000 steps daily. In addition, she feels it necessary to maximize lymph flow.
Dr. Martin likes to pinpoint previous physical and psychospiritual trauma and how that may affect structure and function. The musculoskeletal system lends itself well to acupuncture, bodywork, dietary and lifestyle changes along with energy medicine.
