Becoming A Patient
No, we do not accept any insurance, Medicare or Medicaid.
Our number one goal is to completely and comprehensively address your medical needs. Healthcare providers that are contracted with insurance companies are constrained by treatment guidelines, provider report cards, and compliance directives set forth by the insurance company. By not contracting with your insurance company, we are unrestrained in devoting ourselves to your concerns and will not sacrifice your needs for the desires and financial interests of the insurance companies.
We recognize that healthcare is expensive, especially the quality and comprehensive care that we provide. As such, we are conscientious of costs and are dedicated to providing you the best care at reasonable prices.
Many insurance carriers may cover medical services and laboratory tests ordered by us, especially when performed by an in-network lab. We will provide a detailed receipt for services rendered for you to submit to your insurance carrier directly.
Dr. Martin is a holistic doctor and therefore treats the whole body regardless of specific condition, however, What We Treat lists many of the medical issues patients come to see us for.

Yes. Dr. Martin has a very comprehensive approach to cancer and works with your oncologist to create an environment in which your body can heal. This includes a focus on nutrition and lifestyle modification to strengthen the immune system, enhance detoxification, and address genetic and psycho-spiritual factors. Post treatment, we work to decrease the risk of recurrence and optimize health.
Absolutely! Autoimmune disease is seen as a major culprit behind many modern diseases and and we have seen great improvements using our Functional Medicine approach.
Yes, Dr. Martin would be happy to provide a second opinion and address your child’s medical concerns from an integrative and functional medicine perspective as long as he or she has a primary care provider or pediatrician.
No. We require that you have your own primary care physician and Dr. Martin works with your healthcare team. Although Dr. Martin is trained in Internal Medicine since 1996 and board-certified since 1997 (delay due to pregnancy), she does not provide acute care services. Dr. Martin is a board-certified Integrative Medicine specialist who works with you as a consultant in functional, holistic, and Western medicine to help get at the root of your health concerns.
Yes. Dr. Martin is a fully licensed medical osteopathic doctor in the State of Colorado and has full prescribing privileges. As a board-certified Internal Medicine doctor, she sees the judicious use of pharmaceuticals as warranted.
New patients must schedule their initial appointment for a minimum of 55 minutes, but do not hesitate to schedule your appointment for 85 minutes in order to thoroughly cover more of your concerns with Dr. Martin. We suggest scheduling for 85 minutes if you have complex medical issues that require special attention. Due to the demands of this type of medicine and out of respect for the next patient’s time, appointments will not run longer than scheduled. Please consider booking for a longer appointment if you feel you would like more time with Dr. Martin.
Dr. Martin thoroughly reviews your records at the time of your visit, the more complex your history and concerns, the more time is required for you appointment. Please schedule accordingly.
Anything that is not addressed in your appointment time can be discussed at your next appointment.
Please fill out the patient forms on our website listed under Forms which you can bring with you or email to our office.
Please take pictures of all your current medication bottles and supplement bottles (front and back).
Please bring copies of old records, especially labs/diagnostic reports, or bring screenshots or pictures of your labs and records on your phone. It helps to have your records stored in a file on your phone for easy access or to bring in a physical copy. Many patients are able to access their labs from their other providers or on a patient portal which often only allows them to review only one result at a time, although this works in a pinch, it is cumbersome and time consuming. In the essence of utilizing your time effectively please bring in pre-printed copies.
Please bring in a copy of your records and we will select the ones that are important to us.
As a courtesy, we will call you two days in advance to remind you of your appointment, however, if you do not receive the reminder you are still responsible for keeping your appointment or rescheduling it.
Upon receiving your test results, we will review them, and send them in the mail to you per the envelope addressed by you at your last appointment. You will not receive a call with test results except in cases that require emergency attention.
Test results will be comprehensively discussed at your next appointment. Please schedule a follow-up appointment to discuss your results. Note that some specialized tests can take up to 6 weeks to receive.
We will address as many results as we can in the allotted appointment time that has been scheduled by you. Anything that we aren’t able to cover can be addressed in the following appointment. Please consider this when scheduling your appointment.
Policies and Rates
Yes, Dr. Martin sets aside an hour or more for the appointment, which may be difficult to fill in the event of a last-minute cancellation, therefore, a nonrefundable $200 deposit may be required when scheduling an initial consultation.
We will take down a credit card number over the phone when you call to schedule your appointment. Any deposit made is put toward the cost of the consultation fee. If you fail to cancel 48 hours prior or do not show up for your appointment, the deposit will NOT be refunded.
If you need to cancel you appointment please give us 48 business hour notice. If you fail to do so you will be charged the fee of your scheduled appointment. Please remember we are not in the office Fridays, so a Monday appointment will need to be cancelled by Wednesday.
If you cancel your appointment on the same day, or do not show for your appointment, you will be charged the fee of your scheduled appointment.
You will not be able to refill prescriptions or schedule further appointments until these fees are settled.
It is very important that you contact our office to let us know that you will be requesting a prescription refill. Please specify the medication and dosage. If this request is approved, have your pharmacy fax a prescription refill request to us at 303-762-7207. If you do not call in advance of your pharmacy request, your refill may be automatically denied. Please refer to your PCP for prescriptions that you get from them. Any outstanding financial balance must be paid up or appropriately addressed in advance of further refills being granted.
If it has been over a year since your last appointment or physical, you will need to schedule an annual visit with Dr. Martin. We may only approve a 30-day request, not a 90-day request.
Please call our office and speak with our staff, they will address your questions with Dr. Martin, and we will get back to you. For complex matters, you will be directed to schedule an appointment with Dr. Martin. Also, if you have been advised to make a follow-up appointment with Dr. Martin to review labs or follow up on your care, please schedule an appointment with her.
Appointments for telephone consultations are available for existing patients during regular business hours. For non-urgent matters that would be best attended to during an appointment, we recommend that you schedule an appointment. Please refer to your PCP for your acute care matters. Please be informed that Dr. Martin will not treat you over the phone without an evaluation. Please schedule an appointment or see your PCP.
Dr. Martin believes that patients should have a copy of their own records. Thus, we provide patients with a copy of all records, lab results, and recommendations at each visit. It is the patient’s responsibility to keep their copy for their records, so they may be free to share with all others that are involved in their care. Dr. Martin does not send copies to other providers since you already have a copy and the responsibility of getting a copy to another provider falls on you.
Should you need additional copies of your records, we are happy to provide them to you at an additional fixed charge.
Appointment rates are based on time spent with Dr. Martin.
- 85 min appointment: $530
- 55 min appointment: $350
- 30 min appointment: $220
A deposit will be taken for any appointment scheduled for more than 30 minutes.

Your PCP is your primary resource for forms. However, should you need us to fill something out please note that we only fill out forms during a scheduled appointment.
